The Show

We want you to know what you're getting, so the cast list and first third of the script are available here! Bad Wolf shows are written for flexibility and can be edited however you like to meet the needs of your actors, school, curriculum, parents, astrological chart, latest whim, etc. If you have questions about the portions of the script not shown, please contact us.

This is the first one-third of the program. We're assuming you'll use bits and pieces of this throughout the school year:

(NOTE: Lines that start with "S:" are spoken by a student. Any student!)

S: We’re very excited. And do you know why?
S: Because we’re finally in college?
S: This isn't college. It’s ______ (fill in right grade). And it’s gonna be so fun!

Song 1

Listen to a sample!

CLASS:
We’re gonna have fun
Gonna learn a lot
We’re gonna have fun
Learning what we’re taught
We are glad that school's begun
‘Cause we're gonna…have some fun.
We are glad that school’s begun
‘Cause we’re gonna have some fun.

We’re gonna have fun
It’s the best year yet
We’re gonna have fun
I’m the teacher's pet
This class is the number one
Yeah we’re gonna….have some fun.
This class is the number one
Yeah we’re gonna have some fun.

Juh, juh, juh, juh, juh, juh, juh, juh
Yeah! Ooh!
Juh, juh, juh, juh, juh, juh, juh, juh
Yeah, yeah, ooh!

We’re gonna have fun
Gonna learn a lot
We’re gonna have fun
Learning what we’re taught
We are glad that school’s begun
‘Cause we’re gonna…have some fun.
We are glad that school’s begun
‘Cause we’re gonna have some fun.

HALLOWEEN (1)

S: It’s (almost) Halloween.
S: You know what’s the best thing about Halloween?
S: Santa Claus?
S: No!
S: Dyeing eggs?
S: No!
S: Then what is it?

Song 2

Listen to a sample!

CLASS:
Costumes and candy oh boy!
Halloween!
It’s the greatest scam I’ve seen.

Costumes and candy oh boy
Put on a mask or a sheet
Neighbors give you great stuff to eat.

Costumes and candy oh boy
What a day!
Snickers
Skittles
Milky Way.

Costumes and candy oh boy
When the excitement’s complete
Bet you’re gonna hear “brush your teeth.”

Knock on the door
Flash’em a smile
So sweet
Hold out your hand
You get a trick
Or treat.

Costumes and candy oh boy
What a day!
Snickers Skittles Milky Way.

Costumes and candy oh boy
When the excitement’s complete
Bet you’re gonna hear “brush your teeth”
“Brush your teeth”
“Brush…your…teeth.”

HALLOWEEN (2)

S: It’s almost too good to be true.
S: The hardest part is choosing a costume.
S: I can’t decide if I want to be a pirate or a princess.
S: I think’m going to be a frog.
S: That’s a bad idea. You get way more candy if you’re dressed like a mammal.

Song 3

Listen to a sample!

CLASS:
Whatcha gonna be for Halloween?
Whatcha gonna be this year?
S#1: I’m gonna be a scary ghost
S#2: I’m gonna be a piece of toast
Jam and butter smeared from head to knee

CLASS: That’s what they’re gonna be gonna be gonna be…gonna be.

Whatcha gonna be for Halloween?
Whatcha gonna be this year?
S#3: I’m gonna be a queen, like so [puts a crown on her head]
S#4: I’m gonna be a CEO
Give myself a bonus treat or three

CLASS: That’s what they’re gonna be gonna be gonna be…gonna be.

Woh oh Spiderman
Woh oh Peter Pan
Woh oh Frankenstein
Tonight they all are friends of mine!

Whatcha gonna be for Halloween?
Whatcha gonna be this year?
#1: I’m gonna be a scary ghost
#2: I’m gonna be a piece of toast
Jam and butter smeared from head to knee

CLASS: That’s what they’re gonna be gonna be gonna be…gonna be.
Gonna be gonna be gonna be…gonna be.

THANKSGIVING

S: The first winter was very hard on the Pilgrims.
S: So when the first good harvest came in, they celebrated.
S: The Wampanoag Indians brought food too.
S: And everyone ate lots of potatoes.
S: Actually, there weren’t any potatoes yet in Massachusetts.
S: Where were they?
S: They were vacationing in Florida.
S: The first celebration of Thanksgiving lasted for three days.

Song 4

Listen to a sample!

CLASS:
They sat down…natives and colonists
Thankful they had survived
They all brought something that's good to eat
Happy they were alive.

Three day, three day, three day harvest feast
Three day, three day, three day harvest feast.

Now we eat turkey and pumpkin pie
Seems like it never ends
Don’t forget what it is all about
Thanks for family and friends.

Three day, three day, three day harvest feast
Three day, three day, three day harvest feast.

1621
First time it was done
1621
First time it was done.

Three day, three day, three day harvest feast

A COUPLE STUDENTS: 1621, first time it was done

CLASS:
Three day, three day, three day harvest feast.

MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY (1)

S: Today we celebrate the life and dreams of Martin Luther King, Jr.
S: He was an African-American minister in Alabama.
S: At that time, black people were not treated fairly in much of the United States.
S: Martin Luther King led a movement for equality, what we call civil rights.

Song 5

Listen to a sample!

There was a time
There was a time
Blacks were oppressed for their color
They would despair
It was unfair
Why should one care about color?

There was a time
There was a time
One man stood up, he would change things
He led the fight
For civil rights
Marching for equality.

Martin Luther King it’s your day today
It is now time to sing
Martin Luther King it’s your day today
Martin Luther King.

There was a time
There was a time
One man stood up, he would change things
He led the fight
For civil rights
Marching for equality.

Martin Luther King it’s your day today
It is now time to sing
Martin Luther King it’s your day today
Martin Luther King.

MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY (2)

S: In 1963, Martin Luther King led a March to Washington, D.C.
S: On the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, he gave one of the most famous speeches in United States history.
S: He told all of America that he had a dream.

Song 6

CLASS:
He had a dream of civil rights
He had a dream that blacks and whites
Would one day live in peace and harmony.

He had a dream that we’d begin
To judge by character not skin
That love would rule supreme
He had a dream.

He had a dream
Build it strong
Build it long
He had a dream
Build it strong
Build it long
He had a dream.

He had a dream for me and you
And though it hasn’t quite come true
We’re making progress ev’ry single day

He had a dream that we¹d begin
To judge by character not skin
That love would rule supreme
He had a dream.

He had a dream
Build it strong
Build it long
He had a dream
Build it strong
Build it long
He had a dream.

(This concludes the first one-third of the program.)
