Script
This is the first one-third of the script.
Song 1
THE CLASS marches in, singing:
Here we are
We all have style
Marching in single file
We just want to make you smile!
Hold on to your socks
Hold on to your socks
Here comes
Here comes Goldilocks.
Here we are
So let's have fun
Marching in one by one
Now our show has just begun!
Hold on to your socks
Hold on to your socks
Here comes
Here comes Goldilocks.
Daddy Bear
Mommy Bear
Baby Bear too
We are here today
To sing and play for you.
Here we are
We all have style
Marching in single file
We just want to make you smile!
Hold on to your socks
Hold on to your socks
Here comes
Here comes Goldilocks.
(softer)
Here comes
Here comes Goldilocks
(louder)
Here comes
Here comes Goldilocks.
STUDENT (spoken): Once upon a time three bears lived in a cottage in the woods.
STUDENT: Great big Daddy Bear, middle-sized Mommy Bear, and tiny little Baby Bear.
STUDENT: One morning Mommy Bear made a huge pot of porridge.
STUDENT: She poured it into three bowls for breakfast. But it was too hot to eat.
STUDENT: So great big Daddy Bear said...
STUDENT: (in best big bear voice): Let's go for a walk in the woods until it cools down.
STUDENT: The bears hadn't gone far when who should arrive at the house but a girl called Goldilocks.
Song 2
CLASS:
Goldilocks walking through the forest
Goldilocks quiet as a mouse
Goldilocks walking through the forest
Finds a little house.
(entire CLASS pretends to knock on a door)
Knock knock knock, anybody home here?
Knock knock knock, I think I'm off track
Knock knock knock, anybody home here?
I could use a snack.
She tries the door
The door is unlocked
Creak, creak
She pushes at the door
Creak, creak
She goes in to explore.
Goldilocks went into the cottage
Goldilocks took a look around
Goldilocks walked into the kitchen
This is what she found.
(At the end of this song, a few students burst out into their own song. THEY mistakenly think that this is the story of Little Red Riding Hood. Similar "mistakes" happen two other times in the musical---it can be the same group of students each time or a different group. Kindergarten students probably won't get the joke at first, but they will have a great time once it is explained to them.)
Song 3
A FEW STUDENTS:
This is the part where it gets good
Doo-dah, doo-dah
Here comes Little Red Riding Hood
Granny, what big eyes!
OTHER STUDENTS (calling out, not in unison): No, no! Uh-uh!
STUDENT (spoken): This is the part where Goldilocks finds the three bowls of porridge. And she's hungry!
SAME FEW STUDENTS: Oh yeah.
Song 4
CLASS:
She looked around
And right there
One big bowl
For big Daddy Bear
Big Daddy Bear.
She took a big spoonful
Took a great big sip
"It's too hot!" she cried out
"Man that hurts my lip."
She looked around
And right there
One nice bowl
For nice Mommy Bear
Nice Mommy Bear.
She took a nice spoonful
And turned up her nose
"It's too cold!" she cried out
"My tonsils just froze."
(THE KIDS dance)
She looked around
And right there
One small bowl
For small Baby Bear
Small Baby Bear.
She still was so hungry
She picked up the cup
"This is good!" she cried out
And slurped it all up.
She slurped it up
She slurped it up
She...slurped it up.
Song 5
CLASS:
She looked around
And right there
One big bowl
For big Daddy Bear
Big Daddy Bear.
She took a big spoonful
Took a great big sip
"It's too hot!" she cried out
"Man that hurts my lip."
She looked around
And right there
One nice bowl
For nice Mommy Bear
Nice Mommy Bear.
She took a nice spoonful
And turned up her nose
"It's too cold!" she cried out
"My tonsils just froze."
(THE KIDS dance)

And slurped it all up.
She slurped it up
She slurped it up

Song 6
A FEW KIDS:
Now it gets fun
Now it gets good
Three Little Pigs, one Bad Wolf
He huffs and puffs and blows them all down...
OTHER KIDS (calling out, not in unison): No no! Uh-uh!
STUDENT: This is the part where Goldilocks finds three chairs. And she's getting tired!
SAME FEW KIDS: Oh yeah.
Song 7
CLASS (NOTE: For this song, the CLASS divides in half):
The Daddy Bear chair
Give it a try
The Daddy Bear chair
But it's too high.
The Daddy Bear chair
It just won't do
Oh Goldilocks
That's no chair for you.
The Mommy Bear chair
Now here we go
The Mommy Bear chair
But it's too low.
The Mommy Bear chair
It just won't do
Oh Goldilocks
That's no chair for you.
(This concludes the first one-third of the script.)

I had my kindergarten class of 16 perform this for their parents at the end of the school year. Our stage was our classroom carpet in the front of the room. The students took such ownership of their roles and shined in so many ways. What a great introduction to theatre and most importantly teaching our little ones to try new things and practice being brave and confident. So many surprised me with their new talents. Thank you for such an amazing product. I purchased this along with the music.

As usual, I truly enjoyed working with my students on this play, even while virtual. The play turned out better than I had expected and I appreciated that we were allowed to send the songs to the children to practice. I will definitely continue to use Bad Wolf Press for future plays.

This is now the fourth musical I have ordered and am pleased once again. We actually put on our musicals in May of the school year and all have been a big hit. So far, the students are just starting to learn the songs and the dance moves we are adding to each. What I love about this musical and all of them so far, is the humor that is added in, that parents can find funny and the students do, as well…sometimes it has to be explained, the nuances of the humor that is, but then the children can't stop smiling. I am a kindergarten teacher and was presented with the very first Bad Wolf Musical at a workshop 4-5 years ago, and had never put on a musical before (singing performances was all). I was afraid that it would be too much work, too hard, and so forth. Your musicals have made it so that I can connect the learning to our standards in art, speaking and listening and just working on cooperation, respect and kindness. The confidence that has developed in some of my shiest students through these performances have brought tears to my eyes. Please CONTINUE to develop pertinent musicals for these neophyte students and actors.

The materials are very useful. The lyrics and the songs are easy to learn and teach. The instrumental music is also a fantastic tool in the real performance. The staging chart is a great tool that gives me a good reference.

Perfect for my grade 1 class. The make up this year had more timid kids than the past and we didn't have as much time as I wanted to prep. From start to finish the class put on a fabulous show in 4 weeks. So thankful for opportunities where kids can have fun while developing skills like focus, cooperation and of course singing. Families were so happy and proud!

I had a small class of five students, Kinder and first graders, perform the story of Goldilocks and the three bears. Non of the students could read and thus would have had a hard time memorizing long lines. The students had no trouble at all memorizing the songs though! We used 4 songs from Badwolf Press to add bulk and humor to our play. I didn't use all the songs, because I find some of them cheesy, and dislike how the last song changes the ending of the original story. Overall I was pleased with the price ($9.99) for the audio files and felt it made our short play very cute and easy to perform. I didn't give it 5 stars because the audio files have an adult male voice singing, which is hard to drown out even when the kids sing loudly.
