How to Download Your Purchases from Bad Wolf Press

Great, you’ve ordered downloadable items from Bad Wolf Press! Excellent decision! 10 out of 10 nuclear physicists recommend doing this on a regular basis. You’re ahead of the curve! But now what?

METHOD #1 – DOWNLOAD LINKS IN EMAIL

  1. Look for your order confirmation email. The subject line starts with: “Your Bad Wolf Press order…” If you’ve found it, move on to step two. If you can’t find it, check your spam folder or contact your IT department. A lot of school networks block our emails and you might need to dig a bit. If you still can’t find it, contact us to check if there is a typo in your email address (we will fix them automatically if we find them, but sometimes we don’t) or ask us to use a different email.
  2. The order confirmation email will contain order details and links to your downloads. In most cases, you should be able to download and open/save your files without logging in to our website.

METHOD #2 – LOG IN TO YOUR ACCOUNT

This method requires you to log in, but it’s a handy option since it requires no access to the order email.

  1. In our website menu, click My Account. You will be asked to log in. You can use either your email address or your username (which may or may not be different from your email address). If you’re not sure what your username could be, try your email address or your name, in the pattern firstname.lastname. (If you still don’t know or you no longer have access to the email you used to order, contact us and we can look it up and/or change your email address for you.)
  2. Now, as for your password. There is a pretty solid chance you don’t remember it or you never actually set one (because your account is new or you haven’t been to our website since we changed platforms). Never fear, the Lost Password link is here! Enter your email address or username in the box and click “reset password.” Important: make sure the page refreshes and you get a confirmation that the email went out to you. If this doesn’t happen, try again!
  3. Open the email and click the link to set a new password. It needs to be a strong password (sorry!), so no using 123456.
  4. From there, you should be in! Click Downloads or Orders to see and download your purchases.

WORKING WITH DOWNLOADED FILES

If you ordered a musical play from us, you will have two separate download files—the script, in PDF format, and the audio recording, in ZIP format. Optional sheet music and our non-musical plays are also in PDF format.

PDFs

  1. Almost every device should be set up to open a PDF file. Double-clicking on the file should open it. If you do not have Adobe Reader on your device, you can download it free here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/
  2. Save the PDF somewhere on your device or in the cloud. (You can do this lots of different ways, and your computer/browser settings may dictate an automatic location such as a download folder or your desktop.) Once you have saved and located the file on your device, you can move it or copy it to places such as Google Classroom. Please, please, PLEASE, do not post any part of your purchase on a website that is not password-protected. People can and will find and steal it. Please protect our copyrighted material so we can stay in business!
  3. If you wish to edit the script, simply open up the PDF, select all, and copy the text. Then open a word processing document (Word, Google Docs, etc.) and paste the text and edit from there.

AUDIO RECORDINGS – ZIP FILES

If you ordered a complete musical or a downloadable audio recording, you will receive a ZIP file. (ZIP is a compression format that reduces the size of a large folder.)

  1. Download to computer – Almost all computers should be able to open ZIP files without difficulty. Make sure the ZIP has completely downloaded before trying to open it; audio files are large, so this folder will be 50-100 MB. Then double-click on the ZIP file. Your computer will create a new folder that contains all the individual song files in a format called MP3. Each song displays the track number and title. From there, you can add the songs to iTunes/Apple Music or any music player of your choice, or upload them to a PASSWORD PROTECTED SITE such as Google Classroom (again, please do not post any part of your purchase on a public website such as your teacher page. Even if the link to the file isn’t shown on a page, the file itself can be downloaded and stolen). You can also burn the MP3s to a CD, if you still have that kind of tech at your fingertips.
  2. Download to Tablet/Phone – Tablets and mobile devices do not usually have the ability to open ZIP files automatically. Often the easiest way to get MP3s to such a device is to open them on a computer first and then transfer the files to the device (iTunes/Apple Music has this functionality built-in so that song files can be automatically sent to a person’s connected devices). But sometimes that is not an option, and you need to download the ZIP file directly to your device and open the song files. To do this, you will need to install an app that can open ZIP files. Many free options should be available from your app store. Once you have installed it, log into your account on our website using your mobile device or tablet. Then download the audio recording. You should now be able to open it directly on your device, and add the song files to your music player.

IF YOU NEED MORE HELP…

By far the best way to get help with technical issues is to contact your IT department or work with someone at your school/organization/home who can help you in person. While we can give suggestions, there’s no substitute for an expert who knows how your network and devices work together. If all this is over your head, just get in touch with us and we can assist you in exchanging your order for the printed version. Believe it or not, you can still purchase CD players!

Thanks again for ordering from Bad Wolf Press!
